Sparkle!
What woman doesn’t love an occasion to wear a sparkly dress? The holiday season is the perfect time to wear sequins and sparkle, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress that you probably won’t wear very often.
This sequin mini dress from Old Navy caught my attention for several reasons. First, the color…it’s called Bronze and it’s a unique sort of color. It leans brown, but not in a drab kind of way.
The crew neck and bell sleeves are so flattering and the length is not too short. The little opening in the back gives interest without the need for a special kind of bra, which we all love! I’m wearing a size small and this also comes in black and warm ombre.
If you have a holiday party to attend this year and want to dazzle, I would recommend this dress.
Also from Old Navy is this sequin mini skirt that I shared in a previous post. This is another piece that looks so elegant, yet the price is amazing! I paired it with this mock neck sweater from Loft. These are a vital part of my wardrobe and I purchased it in four colors!
Red Midi Skirt
Perhaps the most versatile piece in this whole collection is this red midi skirt. The taffeta fabric looks like something you would find at J.Crew, yet is is from Old Navy with a price tag to match. My mind just gets overwhelmed thinking of all the ways you could style this skirt!
I have to point out these gorgeous ballet flats from J. Crew Factory…they are so elegant! They also come in black and are currently on sale.
Also, I like that a red skirt can be worn all year around, so no need to put it away after Christmas. I’m wearing a size small, and I will be surprised if this piece does not sell out.
For a bonus Christmas outfit idea, I styled it one other way with another sweater from Old Navy. I’ve shown this sweater before, but it’s worth another look.
Traditional Plaid
I never get tired of plaid for the holiday season, and these red tartan plaid pieces are always in style. First is this classic A-line mini skirt in red plaid. I have had several versions of this skirt in the past and you will be so glad to have this in your winter wardrobe.
I’m wearing the red in a size 6 for reference. It also comes in three other colors, so click here to see all the choices.
I styled it with the same black mock neck sweater and tall boots.
Christmas outfit ideas do not need to be complicated. It’s really about festive colors and classic pieces. The plaid skirt also looks very chic with a simple white button down shirt. I added a bold green statement necklace for interest. My necklace is from last year. This one is similar.
Christmas Outfit Ideas With Plaid
The next plaid Christmas outfit idea features this red tartan plaid puff sleeve top from Old Navy. This top is perfect for any holiday event and can be worn dressed up or with jeans for a more casual event. It does have a plunging v-neckline, so you may need a cami underneath.
It also comes in black and a rose print. I’m wearing a size small.
Knit Jumpsuit
Christmas outfit ideas can start with a basic piece. Having a black jumpsuit like this one in your wardrobe will serve you well, and I love sharing pieces that can multi-task. This piece is such a flattering foundation for any outfit…then you add your special touch with any number of accessories.
You could layer this with a blazer or sweater.
Also think pops of color with jewelry, handbags, or shoes.
A classic jumpsuit can be a life saver if you have an event and can’t think of anything to wear. Start with this piece and then experiment with accessories and you will be amazed at the possibilites!
This is a ponte knit fabric so it’s very soft and comfortable. Also it has a flattering V in the back, but you can still wear a regular bra. I’m wearing a size small for reference and the length hit me at my ankles
Everything I have shown today is currently on sale, so if you have an event or just want some fun Christmas outfit ideas don’t wait too long. Many of these items are going fast and may not restock.

I went ahead and ordered the bronze dress and the red taffeta skirt. I look forward to wearing them. I have to say, you appear to have really slimmed down. You look great.
