The crochet trend is having quite a moment, and although it’s not my primary style asthetic I can get behind it. I recently ordered a crochet tunic from Amazon and the cutest crochet handbag from Walmart. With these pieces, I will show you 5 ways to style the crochet trend.
I’ve seen pricey versions of these crochet tops in boutiques, but I’m happy to report that this version from Amazon is only $33.99! I’m wearing a neutral tone, but it comes in many different colors.
1. Swim Cover Up
The most obvious way to style a crochet tunic is over a swimsuit. These make great swim cover ups by giving you some coverage and keeping you cool. I’m wearing a large in the color Apricot, which is really an off white.
The swimsuit I’m wearing is a favorite from last year.
2. With Denim Shorts
I haven’t been wearing my denim shorts much this year, but I pulled them out for this outfit idea. They are from Old Navy, and this pair is similar.
Paring the crochet top with denim shorts and a wooden platform sandal completes the Boho feel of this look. I also added a longer necklace.
If you don’t like to wear denim shorts, any style shorts could work in this combination. Also, I added a white cami underneath the crochet top.
3. With Wide Leg Pants
Another way to style the crochet trend is to pair this top with wide leg linen pants. I’ve mentioned this pair before, as they are a favorite of mine from Amazon.
My white summer bag is Kate Spade. This one is similar.
4. Layered Over A Jumpsuit
I picked up this pink jumpsuit from Old Navy recently as a lounge around the house piece. It’s a tad see-through so layering the crochet top over it would allow me to go outside and feel covered in this outfit.
The Henley Jumpsuit comes in four colors and I’m wearing the medium.
To finish off this outfit, I’m wearing my new platform Crocs. I get compliments every time I wear these!
5. Crochet Handbag
If you are not into crochet tops, try a crochet handbag instead. I found this strawberry bag at Walmart and I’m in love with it! It comes in other prints as well, but I’m a sucker for strawberries.
Here I am wearing a simple white maxi dress from Loft (old). Keeping the outfit simple lets the handbag really stand out. This dress is similar.
By the way, just in case you think crochet items are just for grandma’s…my 21 year old daughter has taught herself how to crochet. She made me these tulips for mother’s day and I just love them!
