Quiet Luxury Shorts For Women

The weather is heating up quickly, and it’s time to think about shorts! 2025 is all about refinement and classic style, which is good news for us older women who want to wear shorts that are more sophisticated. The quiet luxury aesthetic has really resonated with my personal style, and I find myself very comfortable here in this fashion niche. I put together some shorts outfits with these gorgeous tweed shorts that look very expensive, but true to my promise are not budget busters. Shorts for women over 50 are possible, and I think you will want to give these a try!

I’ve been eyeing these tweed summer shorts for quite a while now! The classic tweed dresses from spring have carried right over into shorts and I love them. The hardest part was picking a color! Ultimately I chose the pink because I already have some black trouser shorts, and who doesn’t love this color pink? Just in case pink is not your thing, these shorts come in 5 other colors.

Tweed Shorts For Women Fit & Style Details

These are a polyester machine washable fabric. There is a pretty braided detail on the waistband and pocket. Also a gold button and zipper closure make them easy to get on and off. I would recommend wearing trouser shorts with a top that can be tucked in. This will fit the sophisticated look and show off the pretty waistband.

I would go with your true size and they are available in S-XXL. I’m wearing a size small.

Tweed Shorts Outfit With White Button Down Shirt

Besides the shorts, which I got from Amazon for around $30, I shopped my closet for the tops and shoes. I always say don’t forget about your white button down shirt, and I think it looks perfect with these shorts.

If you need a summer white shirt, I have linked several similar styles. I also included a sleeveless white button down and some short sleeve options. Also my beaded sandals are from Target.

For another styling option, try a sleeveless silk or satin top. I decided to try navy instead of black and I like this color combination. My top is from last year (Banana Republic), but I was able to find this year’s current version.

Shorts Outfit #3

Another way to style these trendy, yet classic tweed shorts is with a sleeveless knit sweater. This is one that I’ve mentioned recently from my Walmart post. It’s from Free Assembly and I have the cream and navy version. It has a pretty scalloped edge detail around the arm and neck area. If it has sold out, I have linked some similar options.
