As summer approaches women over 50 may face a dilemma when it comes to finding the perfect swimsuit that embodies both style and grace. The search for swimwear that flatters mature figures while exuding elegance can be exhausting. I’m here to help and have recently purchased two new swimsuits tailored specifically for women over 50. These must-have swimsuits for women over 50 will ensure you feel confident and beautiful at the beach or pool.
Classic One Piece Styles
When it comes to classic one-piece styles, simplicity and sophistication reign supreme. Opt for a timeless black one-piece with ruching details to flatter your figure and create a slimming effect.
My favorite place to shop for swimwear is Amazon. This black one piece is a recent purchase and it is such a great basic swimsuit that has lots of flattering features. I like the one shoulder design that has good coverage in both the chest and the bum. I’m wearing a size large.
A halter neckline can add a touch of elegance, while a V-neck design can elongate the torso for a more streamlined look. Consider a color-blocked one-piece with strategic panels to accentuate your curves and create a chic silhouette. Embrace the beauty of simplicity with classic one-piece swimsuits that never go out of style.
Another trend this summer is the one piece cut out style. I have never worn this style, so I decided to try this bright pink version. Having a long torso, I was a little worried that the cut out would not hit me in the correct place. As it turned out, I think the fit is good (size large).
I have shared this next swimsuit before, but it remains a top seller here on the blog, and since it is still available I wanted to show it again. This is one of the most flattering one-piece swimsuits I have ever had. I chose navy, but it also comes in black.
Chic Two Piece Styles
High-waisted bikini bottoms offer extra coverage and support while accentuating your natural curves, making them a perfect choice for women over 50 looking to feel confident and chic at the beach or pool. Paired with a matching or contrasting bikini top, high-waisted bottoms can create a timeless and sophisticated ensemble that exudes elegance and sophistication.
This high-waisted trend has died down a little bit, but there are many options that offer the best cut for your figure. This mid-rise bottom is a nice in between if the super high waist is not flattering on you.
I have placed on order for this two-piece and have linked a few others two piece swimsuits for women over 50. This one is from Cupshe and I love that you can order the top and bottom in different sizes!
Timeless Cover Up Ideas
When you’re ready to take a break from the sun or transition from the beach to a seaside restaurant, consider adding a stylish cover-up to your swimsuit ensemble. A lightweight sarong or wrap can provide just the right amount of coverage while still allowing you to show off your chic swimsuit.
Opt for a flowy kimono or breezy caftan for a bohemian-inspired look that effortlessly transitions from beach to boardwalk.
For a more tailored and sophisticated option, a linen shirt dress or tunic can offer both style and sun protection.
If you really want to be on trend this year, consider adding a crochet cover up to your wardrobe. Crochet is everywhere, and you will be seeing it incorporated into swimwear in many ways. I have linked several crochet styles to browse!
This one is currently in my Amazon cart.
Whether you choose a classic crochet cover-up or a contemporary sheer maxi dress, selecting the perfect cover-up can elevate your beachwear ensemble to a whole new level of elegance and sophistication.,
From classic one-piece styles to chic high-waisted bikinis, there is a swimsuit out there for every woman to embrace her inner elegance. So don’t let age hold you back – wear that swimsuit with style and grace. Remember, confidence is the key to looking and feeling fabulous at any age.
