Although fashion is my primary focus, I do enjoy sharing some beauty products from time to time. I have been so encouraged by the wide variety of quality drug store products available to us now. I don’t know about you, but with prices skyrocketing all around me, it is so refreshing to find some affordable makeup that rivals high end brands! Today I’m sharing my trial of the Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation.
The Formula
Many companies are starting to incorporate skin care ingredients into their foundations. This is especially good news for us midlife women who need all the help we can get. The Revlon Illuminance contains 5% Squalane and Hyaluronic Acid. Both of these ingredients are moisturizing to the skin.
This is a medium coverage formula that is available in 28 shades. I am wearing shade 217 Beige. It retails at Walmart for $13.48 per 1 fl oz.
Results
I took photos in several different locations because it looks different in each lighting scenario.
Indoors in front of window with natural light. My skin is peeling a little from using my Retin-A. I probably should have exfoliated a little more prior to these photos.
Here we have outdoor natural light. I was not very impressed with the way my skin texture was really evident in the natural light, despite the claims that this foundation blurs imperfections.
…and here we have indoor with natural light but not in front of a window. I think the foundation looks best in this lighting, but I’m still not thrilled with the texture showing through.
My Thoughts
This is a good foundation that is formulated for mature skin. I would need to wear it a while longer to see if it would really moisturize my skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I found it easy to apply with a sponge, but it did emphasize my pores and texture.
I think many women would enjoy this foundation; however I do not like it better than my favorite L’oreal True Match Nude.
Outfit Of The Day
My top is a recent purchase from J. Crew Factory. I mistakenly sized up in this top so it’s a little big but since it was on clearance it is final sale. Luckily I can cinch the back and still wear it. I love vibrant greens and blues!
My denim shorts are from Old Navy (last year). This pair is similar.
Finally, my shoes are also from J. Crew Factory. I love the pop of green!
Thanks for stopping by today! Let me know your thoughts if you have tried the Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation.
