The Undergarment You Didn’t Know You Needed: Nipple Covers

As you might guess, I have always loved clothes and fashion. I enjoy showing you clothing that makes me feel good and hopefully makes you feel good too! Today I want to spend some time talking about what we wear under those pretty outfits. We are all familiar with shapewear, bras, and panties and those are all very important pieces of our outfits. This post, however, is dedicated to the undergarment you didn’t know you needed: nipple covers. What? Yes, you need these and in this post I will show you why you need them.

Have you ever worn an outfit and then caught a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and had a “NFO” (nipple freak out) moment? Chances are we all have. That’s why many of us prefer at least lightly padded bras. Let me introduce you to nipple covers and how they can help you with your outfits. I mentioned them in this post, but here are all the details.

Meet Cakes

The first reusable, washable, non-adhesive silicone inserts designed for workout, lounge, and swimwear. These inserts adhere to your body without any adhesive, and can be worn with an unlined bra or in place of a bra. They can be worn in swimsuits, workout tops, or any form fitting tops and are invisible under clothing. No lines, or ridges.

You may have worn a sticky bra, or sticky modesty covers in the past for special occasions, but Cakes are different in that they have no adhesive and can be worn every day…over and over. They are extremely comfortable and in fact, I never even realize they are in place.

I have had the same pair for over a year now, and they are in perfect shape. I wear them several times a week…mostly with athletic tops and unlined sports bras. To care for them, I simply rinse them off with water after each wear.

Ways To Wear Cakes Nipple Covers

1. In Addition To An Unlined Bra

If you are large busted, you may prefer an unlined bra to avoid any extra bulk. The problem with unlined bras is that unless you are wearing a very thick top you can see everything! With Cakes, you simply wear the nipple cover under your unlined bra.

2. With A Sports Bra

Tired of those irritating removable pads in your sports bra? Just get rid of them! I have thrown all of those pesky inserts away and now I just wear my Cakes under my sports bra for a smooth and modest look.

3. Under Swimwear

Cakes are perfect for wearing under your swimwear. They will stay in place when wet, and again…no more of those annoying removable pads to fuss with. See my latest swimwear post here.

4. Top With Built In Bra

During summer, you may want to wear a top or dress with a built in bra, but it doesn’t offer quite enough coverage. Cakes are perfect for these situations. Here are some examples of how I wore my Cakes in these instances.

5. Wearing A Top With No Bra

Some tops or dresses are best without a bra if possible. I know for some women, this is not an option but in some instances I can get away with just wearing the cakes. Strappy tanks and form fitting sports dresses are examples of how I wear Cakes with no bra.

6. With Fitted Shirts

I like to wear my cakes with fitted shirts, even with a bra. It’s just an extra layer that gives you complete confidence when wearing thin fitted tops.
