Chances are you are noticing a big style trend happening this year…yes, it’s crochet clothing and accessories. Before you cross this off your fashion list, let me show you a couple of ways to style crochet clothing that is not hippie or boho. My style is leaning more and more towards classic/elegant style, but I really enjoy the feminine touch of crochet and I recently picked up a couple of new pieces from Amazon to try.
Crochet Sundress
This casual crochet dress is the perfect summer piece to add to your wardrobe. The scoop neckline and tank style top is comfortable and allows you to wear a normal bra underneath. The A-line shape skims the body in a very flattering way!
The detail on this dress makes it look much more expensive. Note the pretty scalloped edge to the top and the crochet detail along the hemline. I was worried that the white would be see through, but it is not. I simply wore neutral colored undergarments.
Consider a dress like this one if you will be traveling this summer. You could wear this piece for many different occasions and it doesn’t take up much room in your luggage. It would also make a cute swim cover up.
Check the link here to see all the other color options. It runs true to size, and I’m wearing a medium.
Crochet Skirt
Another option to help you ease into the crochet trend would be a crochet skirt. This black maxi skirt is very chic and has beautiful detail. This piece is a little more tricky to wear, because it is not very forgiving in the midsection. If you are trying to conceal a tummy, I think a dress like the one above would be more flattering.
With a form fitting maxi skirt like this one, I find that the shape and drape of the top can make or break the whole look. You will want a top that is fitted…not flowy. This could really make you look frumpy if you get that part wrong.
These ribbed tanks from Target are worth picking up in every color! I have this black with white trim, solid black, and white. The high neck and overall shape is flattering. For size reference I am wearing a large.
If sleeveless tanks are not your style, then these short sleeve fitted tees (also from Target) compliment this crochet skirt. The length is perfect to cover the waistband without being too long. I’m wearing an XL in the tees and a medium in the skirt.
