Patriotic Summer Outfit

Summer is a season of sunshine, pool days, and backyard barbecues. But it is also a time of national pride and celebration, with the Fourth of July being a highlight of the season. What better way to show your patriotism than through your wardrobe with a patriotic summer outfit?

A patriotic summer outfit is not just about the red, white, and blue color scheme, but also about incorporating elements that represent the values and spirit of our country. I’m typically not a huge fan of themed outfits, but I saw this flag sweater from Target and it reminded me of something you would see at Ralph Lauren. As we are currently experiencing a heat wave, a sweater might seem like a odd choice; however it really gives off a high end resort vibe.

I find that when I’m at a restaurant or in the air conditioning I am more comfortable in something with sleeves, so I know I’ll be wearing this summer sweater a lot this year…even after July 4th!

This is an open stitch pullover sweater with a hood. It comes in navy and white and I sized up to a medium for a more oversized fit.

To complete this patriotic summer outfit, I chose my favorite shorts from Aerie in white. They are the offline by Aerie Crossover Flowy Shorts and I have them in several colors.
