Cozy Sweater Dress For Winter

As winter settles in I want to inspire you with some cozy and bright outfit ideas. After the holidays, I tend to shift from bolder reds, greens, and burgundy to bright and pretty pastels. Not spring colors, but the icy tones that make you think of sparkling snow. I recently found a sweater dress in a pretty soft pink that makes wearing a dress on a cold day appealing.

This outfit has several layers that make it cold weather friendly, but let’s start with the star of this look: the dress. A soft oversized hooded sweater dress that feels like a blanket, I did size down to an XS. I first purchased the small and it was a little too oversized. Lantern sleeves and a chunky ribbed knit add to the style.

I know what you’re thinking…aren’t your legs going to be cold? Nope, because these flesh toned fleece lined tights keep you nice and warm and look like bare skin! I have been wearing these on repeat already.

Finishing Touches

For an outer layer that isn’t too bulky with the oversized sleeves of the dress, consider a vest. Mine is from Columbia, but I couldn’t find it online so I linked a similar style.

Also, as a teenager from the 80’s I’m excited to see the return of leg warmers. These aren’t exactly the same as the ones I wore back in the day, but these are perfect for wearing with boots and with leggings! I got a set of four colors for $20. These shorter ones are actually called boot socks, but I have seen the full length leg warmers too.

My boots are the final cozy touch to this outfit. The mini Ugg style boot is my go-to, but for a dress I like a taller boot. Mine are Koolaburra by Ugg and they are less expensive than Uggs.

This dress comes in several colors so click the link here to see all the options! My Christmas tree tumbler can be found here. This snowflake version would be nice for winter.
