I’m sure you have noticed that tucked or partially tucked in styles are very on trend right now. If you’re not a fan of tucking in your shirt, then don’t worry. Tunic style tops are still on trend as well, and today I’m sharing some spring tunic top outfit ideas!
General Tunic Top Style Tips
- Pay attention to the fit…you want a flowy, body skimming fit but not an oversized tent
- Consider belting a tunic top to give you more shape and accentuate your waist
- Pair tunic style tops with a slim silhouette on the bottom. This is a good time to wear your skinny jeans or leggings
- Tunic tops look best with an ankle length or full length pant…avoid a very cropped pant or the proportions will look awkward
- Tunic tops also make good swim cover ups, especially the button down style. Keep this in mind when packing for a vacation to minimize the amount of pieces you need to pack.
Short Sleeved Button Up Tunic
The first spring tunic top outfit ideas are created with this short sleeved button up tunic by Kim Rogers which is a brand you might be familiar with from Belk. This line caters to older women and to be honest I don’t shop it very much, but occasionally I find some more youthful pieces like this one.
This tunic top comes in several colors and prints, and I had a hard time deciding which ones to choose. I ended up with two different prints…a red polka dot and a bright blue and white floral print. I’m wearing a medium in both, and I could have almost sized down to a small. They are generously sized, so if you are smaller up top (bust and shoulders) I would recommend sizing down.
Red and White Polka Dot + Dark Wash Skinny Jeans
As I mentioned in the style tips, when you are wearing a voluminous top it’s more flattering to wear a more fitted pant style. This is the perfect time to bring out your skinny jeans (yes, you can still wear them)!
I chose my dark wash skinnies by Time and Tru to pair with with pretty red polka dot top. The fabric is soft with spandex so the fit is flattering.
Blue and White Floral + White Jeans
This blue and white floral is everything a spring and summer top should be. The colors are bright and happy, and paired with white denim is looks so crisp! For this look, I chose some wedge sandals instead of flats. This dresses it up a bit.
Another style tip I mentioned earlier was belting a tunic top to give you more shape. If you have a body type similar to mine, this will probably be more flattering on you. Here is the same outfit styled both ways.
This top also comes in solid colors and a long sleeved version. I will link them for you.
Floral Print Tunic Top
This floral print tunic top from Amazon is a piece that I have shared before, but it is worth restyling for this post. I styled it two ways…one with jeans and the other with navy dress pants for an office look.
This top has been a popular item on Amazon and here on the blog.
V-Neck Tunic Tank
The last spring tunic top outfit idea is with this V-neck tunic tank. This is currently the top selling item at The Scarlet Lily. I’m showing it in white, but click the link to see all the color options.
