Many women don’t like to show their upper arms and that can be a challenge during the hot summer months. Whether you have some areas that you aren’t wanting to flaunt this summer or you just want ultimate sun protection for you skin, finding clothing that checks those boxes can be difficult. Let’s look at some summer tops that cover your arms and yet still keep you feeling comfortable.

Long Sleeve Linen Summer Tops

Linen fabric is a summer must-have and a long sleeve linen summer top will be your friend this season. Whether worn alone or as a layering piece, this is a perfect option for covering up the arms. You can vary the look my choosing an oversized style or a more fitted style.

The oversized linen button down is really having a strong moment for 2025. They look best layered or partially tucked to give you some shape to your figure.

Light Weight Summer Sweaters

Unless you are outside in the direct sun, it’s easy to get a chill in the air conditioning and I always like to have a light weight summer sweater for indoors or restaurants. My favorite beachy style is from J. Crew Factory: The Crewneck Beach Sweater. I have it in three colors and it is a well worn piece of my wardrobe.

Elbow Length Shirts/Sweaters
Other summer tops that are flattering to the arms is an elbow length sleeve. It’s a big cooler, yet conceals that sometimes troublesome upper arm area.

Here is a nice elbow length cardigan from Amazon. It looks nice with all my summer essentials!

The elbow length mock neck tee from Target is a good basic. It comes in several colors.

Loving this elbow length sweater and denim skirt outfit! A perfect mix of high and low this outfit has everything from Walmart to Nordstrom.

A lounge outfit that still has a longer sleeve is this set. It just looks so comfy!
Crochet For Arm Coverage

Not only are crochet tops peaking in popularity, but they are the perfect way to conceal the arms while still staying cool in the summer. I have linked several down below for you to shop if you have been wanting to add a crochet piece to your wardrobe.

Two Piece Sets With Longer Sleeves
There are so many great sets with longer sleeves. I really enjoy these for casual work from home days.

So as you can see, it is possible to stay cool and cover your arms with these summer tops. Whether you want to protect your skin, are cold natured, or just don’t want to expose your arms there are plenty of stylish possibilities!
