Every year it seems to me like once Halloween passes, Thanksgiving is here in a flash! There is only 3 1/2 weeks between the two, so it’s not too early to plan ahead. I have two Thanksgiving outfit ideas to share today. They are both casual and comfortable. Of course, these are not just Thanksgiving outfits, but they are good options if you want to look nice and still have room for a turkey dinner!
Outfit #1
One thing you will notice about these Thanksgiving outfit ideas is that they are loose and flowy. This is not the day to wear your body hugging outfits.
Here I am wearing a long batwing turtleneck sweater paired with black jeggings. The sweater is from Amazon. I ordered the color caramel, which looked a lot more brown on the website. It is coming across more burnt orange in these photos. This is partly because of the bright photography lighting, but the color is a bit off from the color on the Amazon website. As with most Amazon tops, it comes in an array of colors.
I am wearing a medium which seems to be the right size for me. This is supposed to be a very oversized look. The fabric is ribbed and is soft and comfortable. The turtleneck is not overly large or annoying like some can be.
My jeggings are by Time and Tru, my favorite Walmart brand. These are so comfortable! They have a non-functional button that makes them look like jeans, but they are actually a pull on style. I like this feature because you can tuck your shirt if you want to. I am wearing a size medium. These are a knit fabric, so they have a lot of stretch to them.
Shoes:
I chose three different shoe options to show you with this outfit. First, my tan faux suede mules, then knee high riding boots, and also cognac colored ankle boots. My riding boots are very old, so I will find something similar. The other two styles are still available.
Outfit #2
The second Thanksgiving outfit ideas is centered around this plaid top from Target. This is not the traditional button down plaid shirt. This has a much more feminine style. The smocking detail at the top and the flowy loose fit make it more interesting. Also with this style, there is no fussing with tucking a shirt…another plus for turkey day!
This is not the most flattering style of top for my body type. When you have a large chest (D cup), this style tends to hang too far away from the body which makes me look bigger than I am. I’m on the fence as to whether I will keep it for that reason. It’s an adorable top and I think it would look super cute on someone with a different shape than mine.
For the jeans, I chose these Sophia Vergara skinny jeans from Walmart. I have recommended this brand several times and these did not disappoint. They are comfortable with just enough stretch to give you a flattering fit that holds it’s shape. These run true to size.
For the finishing touch, I am showing two options for shoes. The same mules from the last outfit, and my favorite knee high boots. It just depends on the look you’re going for…I like them both. Adding a hat is an extra touch that would be great if you will be outdoors. Here in the South, it is typically warm on Thanksgiving.
I hope you enjoyed these Thanksgiving outfit ideas. If you like any of these pieces, you will want to order them soon to make sure you have it before Thanksgiving. Holiday shopping has already begun and shipping might start taking a bit longer as we get closer to Christmas.
