Transition To Fall With The Perfect Midi Dress

Summer may be coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean we are ready for sweaters! As we slowly ease into the fall season, it’s the perfect time to revamp your wardrobe and embrace the the midi dress. With its versatile length and endless styling options, the midi dress is the epitome of transitional fashion.

In this article, I’m sharing what I consider the perfect transition to fall midi dress from Target. In fact, I love it so much I purchased it in two colors! What makes this dress so perfect? Let’s take a look at the A-line Midi Dress from A New Day.

Target is officially calling this a maxi dress, but it depends on your height. The photo with the model clearly shows a midi length, and it hits me above the ankle. I am 5’7″, so if you are more petite this could me a maxi length on you….but I think that could also work.

What makes this dress so perfect for that awkward summer to fall transition is the sleeveless style and breathable cotton fabric. It has a more fitted mock neck knit top and the skirt is a full A-line shape this is so flattering. This color is called brown, but I would describe it as a pumpkin color. It also comes in red and black.

I’m wearing a size medium, which was just a tiny bit big on me but I think a small might have been too tight. Generally I would recommend to go with your normal size.

Accessories:

Let’s talk a moment about how I accessorized this look. First, how adorable is this Minaudiere clutch? This is a mini acrylic rectangle shaped bag with a magnetic closure and a removable strap. This is definitely not an every day bag, but really is the perfect accessory with this dress! Here are the two colors available…I love them both!

My shoes are going to be on repeat all season long, and they are also from Target. I have mentioned them already and they are the Elsa Mary Jane Ballet Flats.

My necklace is part of a layered set from Amazon, and my bracelet is also from Amazon. They are both regulars these days, and so affordable!

Black Midi Dress

The pumpkin color is not for everyone, but this dress is equally stunning in black. The versatility is what makes this midi dress so essential to your wardrobe.

Imagine layering with a cardigan, blazer, or jacket for early fall, then layering with a heavier sweater in in the winter. Perfect as is for a warm fall day.

You could also change the look dramatically simply by changing out the shoes. Casual sneakers, sandals, heels and everything in between works with this classic style dress!

Whether you choose the brown, or black or if it fits you as a midi dress or maxi dress I think you will be happy with this perfect transition to fall dress! Let me know in the comments what you think. Do you like the pumpkin color or the black better?

This dress is perfect for the summer-to-fall transition with its breathable cotton, flattering A-line shape, and mock neck. The pumpkin color is great for autumn, and it also comes in red and black. I found the medium slightly roomy, but it’s best to stick with your usual size. A versatile and stylish pick!
